Charlie’s Story

Lucy – Harriot Lewis                      Director – Ashley Stump
Charlie – James Jaconelli            Editors – Ashley Stump and Freya
Killer – Freya Catmur-Hill              Catmur-Hill

(The scene begins with a pan of the bedroom, which gradually focus’s on the couple laying on the bed, Lucy and Charlie. Slow non diagetic music is played.)

Lucy: “Morning baby, I love waking up in your arms.”

Charlie: “You know you will always have me to wake up to.”

Lucy: “I know, I think I’m the luckiest girl in the world right now.”

Charlie: “You are, I guess it’s time for me to get up for work.” (Charlie kisses Lucy on the head.)

(Close up of Lucy with her eyes closed, she reaches out to grab him.)

Lucy: “No, don’t leave.” (Lucy’s arm reaches across the bed but Charlie isn’t there.)

Camera shows close up of and urn and a picture of the couple. Flashback of Charlie being murdered.

Charlie getting murdered. Lucy runs for help. As Lucy is running, the camera is below her and we only see her face as she is running we hear her out of breath and the sound of her heart beating. While she is running, the camera flashes between her and Charlie being killed. You can hear a police siren which fades as the scene dissolves back into a shot of Lucy. We then see a close up of Lucy crying.

A voice over of Lucy talking begins as she gets up.

Lucy looks in the mirror (over the shoulder shot of her in the mirror) she puts on Charlie’s tracksuit bottoms on. She walks downstairs and makes some cereal (close up of the time).

Lucy takes her cereal to the sitting room and presses play of a home video of the couple and the camera zooms into the screen and the credits start (soundtrack - love song).

Lucy: (Voice over) Its been almost a year now, and I still wake up every morning seeing him there next to me and remembering that night.
(Pause.)
You never really let go of your first true love. I didn’t think he would be taken from me so soon or so suddenly.
(Pause.)
Personally, I don’t think Charlie was murdered for no reason. I think somebody wanted him dead for a reason and I will not rest until I find out why.

The End.
